Kayak through Chattanooga's most gorgeous scenery and help the Tennessee River Gorge Trust with their long term bird banding and monitoring project in the Gorge.
We'll kayak down the Tennessee River, take a snack break, then spend an hour walking a short trail around the Bird Observatory where the Trust conducts Neotropical migratory bird research. Then we'll return to our kayaks and paddle another 1/2 hour downriver to finish up the day.
Outdoor Chattanooga will provide all paddling equipment, shuttle back to the launch site and professional guides. No previous paddling experience is necessary as this is beginner friendly. We will take out just above the Trust's Pot Point Cabin.
Time: 1:30 PM to approx. 6:30 PM; 2 hours total of paddling
Cost: $50/person**
What to bring: Snacks, dry bag(s) or Ziploc bags, plenty of water, Crazy Creek chair (optional)
