Aetna Mountain Trails

Photos by Richard Moore/International Mountain Biking Association

The Aetna Mountain Trails are multi-use trails for mountain bikers, hikers, and trail runners totaling of 8 miles. The trails take hikers along the side of Aetna Mountain through a beautiful hardwood forest, past mountain streams, and to the Valley View Overlook. The system is divided into four loops: two beginner friendly green loops and two intermediate to advanced blue loops. The trail system is designed to allow for multi-use for bikers and hikers and a multi-directional flow of traffic. All of the trails have been constructed to adaptive mountain biking standards.

Thank you to Black Creek, the Lyndhurst Foundation, Riverview Foundation, Tower Community Bank, Chattanooga Tourism Co, Fox Factory, Gearhead Outfitters (Rock Creek), RH Aviation, the Mingus family, and the International Mountain Biking Association for making this project possible!

At TRGT, we want our community to get outside on the trails. That is why we create and maintain public trails while also partnering with other organizations to improve access to trail systems in the Tennessee River Gorge. To help us continue this important work, please consider donating below.

Thank you!
