The Mayapple: Episode 2

Moonshine in the River Gorge: Episode 3

Follow Rick Huffines and Eliot Berz as they take you into the Tennessee River Gorge to share the long history of moonshining in the River Gorge’s tributary streams. The hidden mountain slopes, small streams, and remote rural communities made the River Gorge the perfect location for making illegal moonshine. To this day, you can find remnants of the old still sites along the creeks flowing into the river.


Bird Banding 101: Episode 4

Join our avian research team as they take you into the River Gorge to learn all about the basics of bird banding. The Tennessee River Gorge Trust conducts this type of wildlife research to better understand our unique ecosystem we protect and to contribute to wildlife conservation as a whole. Uncovering the Mysterious Belted Kingfisher: Episode 6

Join the TRGT bird research team as we research the seasonal movements of the Belted Kingfisher. Many behaviors of this common yet mysterious species are not fully understood. Through GPS tracking units, TRGT is seeking to better understand this staple species in the Tennessee River Gorge. This research project was supported by the Tennessee Ornithological Society.
