III. General Information
- The Pot Point House is a "smoke free" environment. No illegal substances may be used within the Pot Point House.
- Waste Reduction Policy: As an environmental organization emphasizing education related to stewardship, we feel that our mission includes stewardship of our operations at the Pot Point House. TRGT would like to encourage activities that generate as little waste to be sent to landfills as possible. To do this, TRGT has established three waste reduction strategies which we hope you will elect to use.
- Recycling: A recycling facility for mixed glass, plastics (#’s 1 & 2), metals (aluminum and steel cans), mixed paper, and cardboard, is located outside the door on the northwest side of the house (the opposite side of the house from the driveway). Please lightly rinse all bottles and cans. TRGT staff will transport these materials to the appropriate recycling facilities.
- Composting: TRGT has established a three bin composter to be used with organic wastes (for example, food scraps, and used white paper napkins). These wastes are to be added to the compost via the small door on top of the tallest bin. For more information about composing please review the poster located next to the composter. The composter is also located outside the northwest side of the Pot Point House, next to the recycling facility. All compost generated in this composter is used in gardens surrounding the Pot Point House.
- Reuse: To help reduce the amount of disposable plates, cups forks, knives and spoons that ultimately go to a landfill, TRGT makes available a reusable service for 30, including dinner plates, cups, and stainless flatware. In addition, coffee mugs are also available. Once used, these reusable items should be lightly rinsed and placed in the dishwasher, soap should be added, and the unit turned on.
- Any trash generated from consumable items taken to the Pot Point House and property must be removed when the user leaves the property.
- Members:
- The member rate for day use of the house is $250. Of this amount, a portion will be used to pay for cleaning and maintaining of the house after each day of use.
- The member rate for overnight use of the house is $350. A 25% discount will be allowed for multiple night rentals (up to 5 nights). Of this amount, a portion will be used to pay for cleaning and maintaining of the house after each period of use.
- A cancellation deposit of $50 is required from TRGT members. The deposit will go toward the balance of the rental. The deposit is non-refundable if the rental is canceled less than 30 days prior to rental. It is the user’s responsibility for any damages incurred during use of the Pot Point House.
- Any major donor of $1,000 or more can use the Pot Point House one time per year at no charge.
- Non Members:
- The non-member rate for day use of the house is $325. Of this amount, a portion will be used to pay for cleaning and maintaining of the house after each day of use.
- The non-member rate for overnight use of the house is $425. Of this amount, a portion will be used to pay for cleaning and maintaining of the house after each period of use.
- A cancellation deposit of $100 will be required from all non-member groups. This deposit will go toward the balance of the rental. The deposit is non-refundable if the rental is canceled less than 30 days prior to rental. Any damages are the responsibility of the person executing this contract.
- Non Profits:
The rate for a non-profit organization for use of the house is $150 per day. Of this amount, a portion will be used to pay for cleaning and maintaining of the house after each use.
- School Groups:

- School group activities will be day only (no overnight school groups) and will be limited to one class of a maximum of 35 students. There must be an adequate number of teachers accompanying the students. The group activity must be an academic class or activity approved by the TRGT office staff.
IV. Fees
A fee is charged for any use of the house by an organization, individual, or group. Fee paying groups will have priority on reserving the house for a specific day and time. Fees may be waived for events sanctioned by the TRGT. An example would be scientific experiments conducted in the Gorge, where the TRGT provides the Pot Point House to the participants in exchange for their assistance.
